A Mountain to Climb has been launched by cool arts & culture website NOWNESS.
"Nowness is a video channel showcasing contemporary culture through film. Every day we premiere a new video that gets under the skin of the most influential names across art & design, fashion & beauty, music, culture and food & travel."
Shot in three days, on a Canon 5D, by director of photography Peter Ellmore (Wizzo) and starring actor Moj Taylor. The film explores what happens when an artist loses their way:
"A man with writer's block goes on an imaginary journey in his house to unlock his imagination."
The film was co-art directed by AKQA Creative Director Gradwell Sears, edited by Whitehouse Post's Charlie Harvey, coloured by Goldcrest's Diana Vasquez (supervised by Rob Pizzey) and is set to a beautiful original score by Oliver Davis at We Write Music. The VFX and post services were carried out at Munky by Fabio Vona and Miguel Algora (supervised by Gary Brown). Lighting equipment was supplied by Panalux.
The character, Christopher Wish, writes a story in the film. This is an original piece of work by Ben Manley and will be published in full later this year.
Shirts & bomber jacket supplied by Mr. Start, Shoreditch, London.
